Los geht es um 11:00 Uhr mit der kostenfreien Kostümführung mit Vater Rhein: Schon seit Menschengedenken sitzt er auf dem Grund der Mäuseturminsel in der Tiefe und beobachtet das Treiben am Binger Rheinufer: Vater Rhein persönlich, wie ihn der berühmte Dichter Clemens Brentano erfunden hat. Vater Rhein lädt ein zu einer stimmungsvollen Entdeckungsreise am Rhein-Nahe-Eck: eine kulturgeschichtliche Führung der etwas anderen Art. Treffpunkt Museum am Strom

Um 11:15 Uhr gibt es im Museum am Strom die Führung - Der Chirurg von Bingen – Das Binger Ärztebesteck - 100 Jahre Fundgeschichte
Am 6. Juni 1925 stieß man beim Ausbau einer Straße in Bingen auf ein römisches Gräberfeld aus dem 2. Jhdt. n.Chr. Darunter eine sensationelle Entdeckung, das Grab eines römischen Arztes. Es enthielt neben einer Urne eine große Bronzeschüssel mit zahlreichen chirurgischen Instrumenten. Weltweit stellt dieser Grabfund bis heute den größten zusammengehörigen Bestand antiker medizinischer Arbeitsgeräte eines römischen Arztes dar.
Anlässlich des 100. jährigen Fundjubiläums und des UNESCO-Welterbtages ist der die Führung und der Eintritt ins Museum am Strom an diesem Tag frei.

Von 12 Uhr bis 16 Uhr ist der Alte Kran geöffnet. Kranvorführung um 16.00 Uhr
Der alte Rheinkran steht neben der ehemaligen Zollverwaltung am Kulturufer Bingen. Schon im 15. Jahrhundert ist hier ein Kran überliefert. Der jetzige Dreh- und Auslegerkran wurde ab 1613 nach Plänen des Aschaffenburger Baumeisters Riedinger erbaut. Angetrieben wird der Kran mit Menschenkraft über zwei große Laufräder. Der obere Teil der Kuppel mit dem Lastarm kann über einen großen Hebel gedreht werden. In erster Linie wurden hier Wein, Salz und Getreide verladen.

Um 15 Uhr beginnt die kostenlose Führung im Park am Mäuseturm: „Wo früher Gleise lagen“ am Stellwerk Mensch | Natur | Technik.
In einem 90-minütigen gemeinsamen Rundgang werden die Gäste mit auf die Suche nach Spuren aus der vergangenen Zeit am Tor zum UNESCO-Welterbe mitgenommen. Ob der Blick über den Rhein, in die Anhöhen des Binger Waldes oder zu Orten direkt im Park gelenkt wird, überall gibt es spannende und erstaunliche Geschichten zu historischen Stätten zu erzählen.

The Rochusberg is a beautiful corner for walks with views of Rheinhessen, the Nahe Valley and the Rheingau plus the Rhine. A place of strength on a line with the Donnersberg. Hence the Rochus Chapel, which is definitely worth a visit with its stone carvings as well as the grove around it. In autumn all the colors of the vine leaves from green to yellow and ocher to red...

Nice staff at the tourist information. There is a lot of free information material about Bingen and the surrounding area. Also a free toilet is available, including disabled toilet and baby changing facilities. Here is also the ticket office for events in the city.

One has from the castle Klopp in Bingen on the Rhine, a beautiful view over Bingen, the Rhine shipping and the many vineyards. Rochusberg is a beautiful place, for walking and recharging your batteries. There is ample parking at the Rochuskirche pilgrimage church. A beautiful circular path with references to Hildegard von Bingen lead through the vineyards. The view from the Rochuskirche into the Rhine valley is beautiful.

The park at the Mäuseturm and the beautifully designed Kulturufer are essentially thanks to the successful State Garden Show of 2008. When the weather is nice, countless visitors flock to this place on weekends. It is simply a beautiful destination for young and old with a wonderful view over the Rhine.
