Culture meets nature directly on the Rhine
Experience versatility on the cultural shore of Bingen
Bingen is located in the World Heritage Middle Rhine Valley. The city is surrounded by fantastic countryside and villages. But Bingen itself has at least as much to offer. The best example is the Kulturufer. Here you can stroll through beautiful parks and gardens. Here you can admire artistic monuments and sculptures. Here you can experience first-class music and cultural events. Head for the Rhine and find out what else there is to discover.
Every three years Bingen hosts the Sculpture Triennial takes place. Artists from all over the world travel to Bingen's Kulturufer and exhibit their works. Over 100 of them have already been presented here. Currently, the 6th Triennale is running under the title "Here and Now". 19 sculptures were on display along the banks of the Rhine as well as in downtown Bingen. Don't miss this opportunity.
Bingen stands for the harmony of culture and nature. You can see this particularly well at the Kulturufer. For example, in the poets' cabinets. These are garden rooms surrounded by a 2-meter-high yew hedge. Information panels and audio and sound installations immerse visitors in the poetic world of Rhine Romanticism. Other examples of such harmony are the Japanese ornamental cherry grove, the English rose garden and the Bingen garden city.
